WaterbendingWaterbending, one of the four elemental bending arts, is the hydrokinetic ability to control water, as well as its many forms. The people of the Water Tribes utilize this type of bending. The Water Tribes are divided into the Southern Water Tribe, the Northern Water Tribe, and the lesser known Foggy Swamp Tribe, each with their own bending style.Water is the element of change. The moon is the source of power in Waterbending, and the original Waterbenders learned from the moon by observing how the moon pushed and pulled the tides. The Water Tribes are the only people to not learn Bending from an animal.The fighting style of Waterbending is mostly flowing and graceful, acting in concert with the environment. Foggy Swamp Style Waterbending, however, is more rigid and straight – likely in concert with the often stagnant nature of swamp water. Waterbenders deal with the flow of energy; they let their defence become their offense, turning their opponents’ own forces against them.Fighting StyleWaterbenders use slow movements and elegant forms that evoke the feel of flowing water. Waterbending's strength is its great versatility. Rather than supporting a separate set of offensive methods, Waterbending employs defensive techniques that can be transformed into attacks and counters - defence into offense. Instead of simply deflecting an attack, Waterbending's defensive manoeuvres focus on control, achieved through turning an opponent's own strength against him, rather than directly harming the opponent.


Waterbending Abilities and TechniquesWater Manipulation: Almost all forms of Waterbending involve moving and shaping a body of water to the Waterbender's desire. By simply levitating a large mass of water, Waterbenders can move water anywhere they wish, even parting it under the surface of a lake or sea, allowing them to walk along the bottom of a basin without the need to swim. These large bodies of water can also be used as weapons, either by shaping them into gigantic whips, swung repeatedly at a target as a snake-like body, formed momentarily into a razor-sharp edge that can cut through even metal, or simply dropped onto an opponent to smother them or put out a fire. On the sea or ocean, Waterbending can be used to create giant maelstromsSnow Manipulation: A move that pushes and levitates snow for attack, shielding and defence. Living on the poles of the Earth, Waterbenders are accustomed to living in the snow. The snow is used as the first source when Waterbending. They are able to compress the snow together in order to slice through objects, even metal. Masters can bend the snow to make a snow spout that can carry the bender around, and they can still attack and dodge at the same timeWaves: By moving a large mass of water without separating it from its original source, Waterbenders can create waves of nearly any size. They do this by using an upward movement that raises the source, which they then send away in their desired direction. This can be used to sweep opponents away or even as a form of transport, with the bender surfing on the crest of the wave. This same process can be used to propel waterborne craftsWater Walls/Water Shields: Water can be moulded into a variety of shapes and can be used to deflect an attack, trap opponents in a viscous body, reshaped and propelled at attackers before they can recover, or solidified into a shield of ice. This diversity and ability to swiftly change to suit the situation is what makes the Waterbender's defence so adaptable. Although usually protective, the shield needs some type of compression or else it won't be effectiveWater Temperature Manipulation: Waterbenders also possess the ability to alter the physical state of the water they manipulate (between liquid, solid and gas) at will. Changing the phase of water allows for multiple techniques in the course of a battle, from encasing an opponent in ice to hiding behind a wall of mist. Ice and steam/fog can also be moulded in a diverse range of shapes. Ice provides a degree of hard lethality since it can be moulded into spikes or blades to pin down or impale opponents. Steam or mist can obscure a battlefield and mask movement. A Waterbender can easily superheat and boil water and other liquids to scalding temperatures. Waterbenders also possess the ability to breathe an icy mist that freezes water and other substancesWater Pressure Manipulation: Waterbenders are also able to manipulate water pressure, allowing their techniques to grasp other objects or cut through without simply parting around them. Since water is nigh-incompressible, it can be used as a semi-solid while being able to move and flow like a liquid. Water can be pressurized to such a level where it can slice through metal. Waterbenders can also use this to avoid sinking in water, effectively allowing them to walk on waterCloud manipulation: A skilled Waterbender or Airbender can easily manipulate clouds, which are of air and water, to create various shapes, used in that particular instance to provide a message to nearby villagers of an erupting volcano. It is unknown if a Waterbender can perform this technique without an Airbender and vice versaHealing: Waterbenders can sometimes use a unique sub-skill: the ability to heal wounds by redirecting energy paths, or chi, throughout the body, using water as a catalyst. Waterbenders can use their abilities to heal by surrounding a sick or injured person with water, which then glows with a brilliant, silver-colored light. The use of healing Waterbending techniques is generally taught only to female Waterbenders of the Northern Water TribeIce Claws: A move where the bender draws water around their fingers and freezes it. They can also be sent forward, shooting them at an opponent. A Waterbender can also use this as an advantage; being small and unnoticeable, they can hide them in their sleeves. Additionally, this technique uses very little water and thus can be performed quickly using the Condensation technique. It can also be assumed that Waterbenders can also create ice glovesIce Creeper: A Waterbender can send a ray of ice on the ground, speeding at an opponent to freeze them. This technique freezes a trail of water beginning with the Waterbender performing the move and ending with their targets freezingIce Shield: A Waterbender can freeze an amount of water in front of them, creating a shield of iceIce Discs: A Waterbender can create a cylindrical column of ice and proceed to slice razor-sharp sections of it off and send them at an opponent. They are sharp around the edges but all very thinBreath of Ice: A Waterbender can use their breath to rapidly freeze objects, such as metallic chains, or an opponent. For a more advanced version of the technique, the user takes a deep breath and exhales the air as a cloud of freezing mistWater Filtering: When working in concert with an Earthbender, a Waterbender can purify polluted water. The Waterbender suspends the polluted water in the air while the Earthbender removes the pollutantsWaterbending master levelThe mark of a master Waterbender is the ability to swiftly change from one state of water to another and rapidly switch techniques during combat, keeping the opponent off guard while constantly adapting to the enemyBubble: When in need to cross large bodies of water, capable Waterbenders are able to create a bubble around themselves, keeping an air supply for them and for othersWater Drill: A high-pressure, rotating column of water. Capable of exerting a significant amount of pressure upon a solid surface, that allows the action of a drill. The move takes mastery of Waterbending since the motions to create a constantly twisting body of water takes bending skillWaterspout: This high-level technique involves controlling a whirlpool-like pillar of water as a weapon, rotating it and directing its movements at the same time. Another form exists, which is nicknamed the "Water Snake", in accordance to the waterspouts constantly shifting and coiling movements. It forms a giant snake of water around the lower body, elevating them from the groundIce Dome: A highly advanced technique, a Waterbender may surround a foe in a viscous sphere of water and then freeze it, trapping their opponent insideWater Dome: A master Waterbender can collect water from the rain, forming a dome which can be used for both offense and defenceIce Floor: With a sufficient amount of water a master can cover a large area of the ground with ice, trapping enemies' feet in ice and allowing the Waterbender to slide around Ice Prison: This technique covers an opponent in a prison made of ice. By finely controlling the position of the person within, this technique can restrict the motions of a opponent's hands, thus rendering them powerlessIce Tunnelling: Waterbenders are able to swim through thick ice with the same ease as through water. Although, due to the limited quantities of water present in the air, as a mere 1% at most of the earth's atmosphere is water vapour, the amount of water extracted from the air is quite minimal. Favourable environment and climatic conditions increase the amount of water one can remove from the air.Avatar Level WaterbendingAvatars born into the fire nation have greater difficulty learning and mastering Waterbending, since water and fire are natural oppositesTsunamis: Since they can control larger amounts of water, Avatars are capable of creating and controlling water bodies of far greater size and scale, including causing massive tsunamis, at will. A large wave can be made by a Waterbender by making a circular motion with his/her armsDistanced Waterbending: Avatars can use Waterbending from distances which a Waterbender would not normally be able to access. An avatar can pull water in from a sea towards them and raise tides from the seaWater Compression: Normally nearly incompressible, an Avatar in the Avatar State has enough power over water to compress its volume, compacting several thousands of gallons into a small volumeWeaknessesExternal water source: A Waterbender gains a significant advantage or disadvantage over other benders depending on the amount of water in the vicinity. Enemies are able to take advantage of this by driving them away from water sources. As a result, travelling Waterbenders often carry a water skin with them at all times. Master Waterbenders are able to extract water from plants, ultimately killing the plants, and even condense water vapour out of thin air. Both the latter and the former of course cannot yield very large quantities of water, particularly in the case of water vapour use, which depends on weather conditions. It is not known, most likely due to the disturbing nature of the concept, whether a Waterbender could extract the water from an animal or human in the same manner as a plant. It is implied that such a thing is possible, though the skill would most likely be of a difficulty level on par with Bloodbending. Additionally, the ethical repercussions would most likely have a detrimental effect on the user's emotional state, possibly so intense as to prevent the technique from being practicedEmotional state: A Waterbender's power comes from the internal life energy chi. Due to this; a Waterbender's power is connected to his or her present emotional state. If an inexperienced Waterbender were to lose his or her temper, their Waterbending force is intensified, but in turn, control is lost. Although this has the potential to be quite dangerous, it also serves as a boon to a bender with proper training and experience, as well as balance over his or her emotions.Binding: Waterbending is almost entirely dependent on the movement of the bender's arms, quite the opposite of Earthbending which mostly uses the lower body. This leaves the Waterbender vulnerable when he or she is bound at the hands or has had the flow of chi blocked in the arms.EarthbendingEarthbending, one of the four elemental bending arts, is the geokinetic ability to manipulate earth and rock, in all their various forms. It is utilized by people of the Earth Kingdom.Earth is the element of substance, making Earthbenders and their people diverse, strong, persistent, and enduring. The first Earthbenders, Oma and Shu, learned the art from Badgermoles The key to Earthbending is utilizing waiting and listening for the right moment to strike and, when that moment comes, acting decisively. In other words, Earthbenders generally endure their enemies' attacks until the right opportunity to counterattack reveals itself, then strike with unyielding forceFighting styleEarthbending is generally based on heavily rooted stances and strong kicks and punches that evoke the mass and power of earth. The martial art is based on the movements of animals, including the tiger, which is utilized when initiating hard blows, and the crane, which is used to land gently back on the Earth. Earthbenders, mostly Earthbending soldiers and generals, typically travel barefoot to increase their connection with the earth and their powerEarthbending is also one of the most diverse of the bending arts fighting styles, ranging from the most commonly used Earthbending, the rigid and collectively learned Earthbending of the Dai Li and the individually taught styles such as Toph's unique Earthbending technique. Earthbenders are generally muscular, tough and direct and like all benders, their technique reflects on their individualized personalitiesEarthbending differs from the other bending arts in that it maintains a distinct balance between offensive and defensive capabilities (though Waterbending involves a more refined version by channelling defence into offense). Earthbending uses a balance of strength and defence to overwhelm opponentsThe principle of jing is the essence of battle strategy of all bending arts, with a total of eighty-five possible actions. Positive jing occurs when one chooses to fight, while negative jing is when one chooses to evade. The Earthbending discipline stresses neutral jing, which involves listening, waiting and attacking at the right moment The concept of neutral jing is also closely related to the philosophy of "sticky hands", a practice common to some southern Chinese martial arts such as Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu and Wing Chun. The purpose of sticky hands is to enable the practitioner to predict their opponent's next move. Similar to Toph detecting the movements of others through her connection with earth, a practitioner learns to detect their opponent's upcoming move by maintaining constant contact between their own arm and their foe's arm (may also be between their hands or wrists). By practicing with a partner in this manner, a practitioner will learn to "read" the slight movements of their opponent's arms to detect their next attack and then move accordingly to either strike before the attack is made or move in the same direction with the attack and effectively neutralize it. Concepts such as listening, reacting, balancing attacks and defense and drawing power from a stable lower body are often referred to in the practice of sticky hands, again, closely relating to many primary concepts in Earthbending.Earthbending Abilities and techniquesEarth & Stone Levitation: The most common attack involves levitating nearby pieces of earth and stone of numerous sizes (more powerful benders can move larger masses) and propelling them at foes with punching or kicking motionsRock Shield: A levitated slab of rock can also double as a shield when positioned in front of a bender. This can also be performed with a slab or sheet of bedrock thrust out of the earth's surface. The shield can be hurled at the opponent for quick retaliationEarth Smash: Earthbenders can easily destroy rocks and boulders with punches and kicks, even if they have a very small amount of muscle mass, possibly by making the earth in the rocks weaker, although the exact nature of this technique, if it even is a technique, is never explained. This technique is useful when facing other Earthbenders, as it allows the Earthbender to destroy any earthen projectiles sent at them and break out of imprisoning techniques. However, it does not seem to affect objects not made of earthEarth Sinking: More advanced Earthbenders can forcibly sink their opponents into the ground, imprisoning them or even suffocating them in earthEarthquakes/Fissures: Striking the ground with feet, fists, or hammers, and can create localized earthquakes or fissures to throw opponents off-balance. This same process can be used to sculpt a landmass or to slice large chunks of rock clean off a surface to create avalanches or rockfalls. More advanced Earthbenders can make very narrow fissures for precise attacksEarth Block: Earthbenders can bring up blocks of earth and launch them at their enemiesEarth column: Earth Gauntlet: A much less advanced version of Earth armour that can be used to throw back opponents with hard solid force. The technique is useful in that it grants some level of the protection of Earth Armour but allows the rest of the body to remain flexible.Quicksand: Earthbenders turn the ground to quicksand to immobilize an enemy, or to create a soft landing for themselves should they fall from a height. Earthbenders can also do the reverse of this, compacting sand together to create harder projectiles or a firmer grip on the ground. Rock Slide: If an Earthbender is near a cliff or mountain, he or she can cause many rocks of a multitude of sizes to rain down on his or her opponent.Earth Wall: Earthbenders can create walls of earth, which can be used for both defense and offense, as well as for practical things, like constructionEarth Column: A more powerful version of rock projectiles, involving forcing columns of rock out of the ground. Using a similar principle, an Earthbender can shoot a stream of small ruts and protrusions from underground at their opponent. This can also be used to enhance the benders' jumps. It is, however, limited to the ground and does not have the same range as a rock projectile.Earth Line: As an offensive attack, Earthbenders can create a line of twisted columns and propel it forward.Earth Material Manipulation: Earthbending is not limited to rock or soil alone. An Earthbender can also manipulate coal, gems, crystals, and other earth-based materials, like meteorites and jennamiteRock Hanging: Earthbenders also possess limited magnetic capabilities, allowing them to grasp vertical surfaces and cling unsupported to earthen structures. The Dai Li are the only ones that have demonstrated this ability, although it may be that they used their earth gloves to cling onto the rocky surfaceEarth Launch: While Earthbenders like being routed to the ground, with some like Toph being unable to see in the air, they can quickly move rock beneath them and launch them several tens of feet into the air, whether to catch airborne opponents or to travel fasterEarth Shelter: This can be used by Earthbenders to create a shelter or dome which can provide an instant shelter in the wilderness. It can probably also be used to trap enemies, but this application would not work against an Earthbending opponent, who would be able to cancel out the technique.Earth Compression: It is possible for Earthbenders to compress large chunks of rock into smaller, denser chunks, or to compress several smaller chunks into one big piece of rock. This technique is quite difficult; ad may need two earthbenders, possibly causing too much strain if done by a single Earthbender. Water Filtering: When working in concert with a Waterbender, an Earthbender can purify polluted water. The Waterbender suspends the polluted water in the air while the Earthbender removes the pollutants and sets them asideEarth Mannequin: An Earthbender with a decent grasp of sculpting can cause human-like figures to sprout out of the ground and slide from place to placeEarthbending master levelEarth Tunnelling: Earthbenders can move through the earth to out-manoeuvre their foes either by opening tunnels or by pulling the earth past them, literally swimming through the groundEarth Armour: Earthbenders can bring rocks, dusts, pebbles, or crystals around them and mold them to fit their body and create something similar to armour. They can also hide inside the earth by bending the rock around them as a shellMountain formation: Earth Wave: High level Earthbenders can create a wave of earth to ride on and use it as a form of transportation. The downsides of the wave are that it takes a lot of energy to produce, as well as intense concentration; the slightest distraction could cause the user to lose control of the wave. They can also force a wave of earth outwards and use it as an extremely powerful offensive attackEarth Bomb: By sending a rock towards the ground, Earthbenders can cause massive damage as well as throw their opponents off their feetRemote Earthbending: If an Earthbender is suspended from the ground, but is aware that there is earth somewhere near, the Earthbender can focus his energies and bend that earth out of his physical reach out of sheer concentration.Avatar level EarthbendingGreater Earth Levitation: With their greater power and stronger connection to the earth, Avatars can move hill-sized statues at willTectonics: An Avatar can Earthbend on a scale vast enough to move and separate entire landmassesPowered Compression: This is a much more powerful version of the Earth Compression technique. An avatar can gather boulder-sized rocks and simultaneously compress each fragment into smaller, denser and harder rocks, essentially keeping the rocks under pressure for more volatile attacks if needed. Lastly, the rocks are directed to orbit until they are put to useSpecial TechniquesRock Gloves: The Dai Li have mastered the rock glove technique. Similar to an Earth Gauntlet, they cover their hands in small rocks then project them at a target as bullets or compacted fists to bludgeon the opponent. A more refined and favoured method however is to use them as detachable hands, maintaining the hand shape and literally grabbing and restraining the opponent from a distance.Seismic Sense: A technique originally developed by the blind Badgermoles, skilled Earthbenders are able to sense vibrations through the ground, "seeing" by sensing their surroundings and making a mental image of it. It allows for a 360 degree field of "vision", outside of normal line-of-sight. To operate, the user needs direct contact with the ground, preferably without something like shoes in between. It presumably only works on earth-based material, including metal. Thus it is unknown the extent of material for which Seismic Sense can be applied. The seismic sense is so acute that an Earthbender is capable of sensing even ants moving about, they can identify people by the way they walk, and can almost always tell if someone is lying by sensing his or her physical reactions, such as breathing and heart rateWeaknessesEarth connection: An Earthbender's powers are firmly rooted to the ground on which they stand. Removing them any substantial distance from the earth, such as in the air or on the ocean, strips them of their ability to bend. However it has been shown that Earthbenders are still able to Earthbend if the ground connecting them to the earth is made of metal. Particularly powerful Earthbenders are able to bend effectively with the smallest gestures, and quite possibly with sheer concentration, Earthbending has a distinct advantage or disadvantage as a form of martial art depending on the amount of earth present in the vicinity.Metal and wood: An extension of the last weakness, because nearly all Earthbenders do not know how to bend processed metals, the bending abilities of an Earthbender can be negated by securing them within a metallic barrier, separating them from any contact with the earth. however, Metalbenders are an exception to this. Wood, contrary to the Western notion of earth, cannot be subject to Earthbending because it is neither a mineral nor mineral-likeReliance on the lower body: Earthbending is at its strongest when the feet are in direct contact with the ground, enabling them to transfer their kinetic energies into their bending for fast and powerful moves. Since a skilled Earthbender could overcome this weakness by bringing the other parts of their body in contact with the earth, as stated above, the danger level of this weakness could be debated. FirebendingFirebending, one of the four elemental bending arts, is the pyrokinetic ability to create and control fire. The people of the Fire Nation, as well as the lesser known Sun Warriors, practice this type of bending.Fire is the element of power, consisting of overpowering force tempered by the unflinching will to accomplish tasks and desires. However, the recently militaristic Fire Nation twisted this into Firebending being fuelled by rage, hate, and anger. Firebending draws its power from the sun, and the first human Firebenders derived their Firebending techniques from the dragonsFirebending is notable for its intensive attacking style and general lack of adequate defence moves, although some notable Firebenders utilize creative defensive moves such as creating walls of fireFighting stylesFirebending moves are based mainly on martial arts that are featured quick, successive attacks that exert extreme power momentarily, much like an explosion. It optimizes a strong continuous offense, sacrificing defence for greater power, the principle behind a pre-emptive strike, making Firebending the most aggressive of the four bending artsFirebenders use their internal body heat as a source of their bending. This facet of Firebending is in sharp contrast to the other bending arts, which manipulate already present sources of their element, though Firebenders can also control or enhance flames nearby. Unlike other bending disciplines, Firebending has few defensive moves aside from blocking and dodging, although master Firebenders are able to create walls of fire to absorb incoming attacks or shoot down incoming projectilesFirebending uses concentrated barrages of fire to overwhelm opponents before striking a fatal blow. Swift, whirling kicks and punches generate diverse shapes for offensive attacksCircular motion also seems to be a crucial element to the skill as it seems to be a precession to "power up" the Firebender's flames. When creating lightning, the Firebenders often move their arms in slow, circular motions, similar to Waterbenders but with more tension. As said before, whirling kicks or punches are used many times in the series to create arcs, or just to power their bendingFirebending AbilitiesFireballs: A basic ability; jabs and punches produce miniature fireballs and missiles of flame. These can be charged up (refer to Charged Attacks) to create larger, slower bursts, or swift repetitive strikes to keep opponents off balanceFire Streams: Another basic Firebending ability, Firebenders can shoot continuous streams of fire from their fingertips, fists, palms, or legs. These streams can be widened to create flame-thrower like techniques. Fire Nation soldiers are often seen using this technique to damage or destroy villages or townsBlazing Rings & Arcs: Spinning kicks or sweeping arm movements create rings and arcs to slice larger, more widely spaced or evasive targetsFire Bomb: Considered a short range attack, a Firebender can create a flame at the end of a limb, and thrust the flame down in an explosive burst. Fire Daggers: Creating blowtorch-like jets from the fist or fingertips to use as close range sword-like attacks. However, these lack the ability to actually block physical objects. This technique seems very inefficiencyFire Whip: An extension of a fire stream, this continuous stream of flame can be utilised as a whipFire floor: Fire dome: Force of fire: Fire Blade: A more advanced version of a blazing arc, Firebenders can narrow their fire arcs to create thin blades of fire that they can launch at their opponents Fire Lashes: An even further extension of the Fire Whip/Stream, Firebenders can create a long lash of fire, and bring them down on their enemies or create smaller, multiple lashes and envelop an area with fireFlare Glove: Firebenders are able to surround their hands with fire, using it as an offense for close enemiesFire Circle: A technique demonstrated by the Sun Warriors. They created a circle of fire and suspended it in the air for an extended period of time.The only time these are seen, the circles were made with the Original Flame. It may be that this technique is exclusively used in the Sun Warriors' religious rituals and has no use in combat, as it's never seen anywhere elseShield of Fire: Creates a protective fire shield around the front of, or the whole body of, a Firebender that can deflect attacks and explosions. May be a lesser version of the Wall of FlamesHeat Control: Certain advanced Firebenders appear to have the ability to control heat. Using this technique, Firebenders can heat a wide range of liquids, like water or tea, heat metal to scalding temperatures, or melt iceBlocking Fire: A skilled Firebender can diffuse and extinguish an oncoming fire blast from another Firebender with a swift kick, jab, or defensive movement, allowing them to stop attacksFirebending Master LevelWall of Flames: One of Firebending's few defensive techniques, a situated explosion or controlled inferno, this wall of concentrated flames acts as a barrier to incoming attacks. It may be a more powerful version of a Fire Shield. It not only protects against attacks, but when used right, can be used to stealthily escape from foes. If a Firebender is precise with this technique, his flames can burn on waterFire Disks: A whirling disk of flame, capable of being used at long rangeHeat Redirection: Heat absorption allows for the absorption of heat from one hand and passing through one's body and out the other hand. AirbendingAirbending is one of the four elemental bending arts, the aerokinetic ability to control and manipulate currents of air. The peaceful Air Nomads utilized this type of bending in their everyday lives.Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly problems and concerns, and finding peace and freedom was the key to solve their flaws in life. Airbenders continually sought for spiritual enlightenment, and, as a result, all children born into the Air Nomads were benders. The key to Airbending is flexibility and finding and following the path of least resistance. Airbending is notable for being almost entirely defensive, as well as the most dynamic of the four Bending Arts. Airbenders can overwhelm many opponents at once with large and powerful attacks that could prove fatal; however, due to the pacifist nature of the Air Nomads, such attacks are rarely used.Fighting styleAirbenders never seek a fight and they never seek to strike an opponent directly. Their martial arts feature swift, evasive manoeuvres that evoke the intangibility and explosive power of wind, drawing energy from the centre of the abdomen. It has not been revealed if an Airbender can perform this technique without a Waterbender and vice versaAirbender principles regarding fatal moves: Though deemed the most dynamic of the Bending arts, the most controversial aspect of Airbending is its supposed lack of fatal moves, being a more defence-inclined art. This aspect in itself is a reflection of the principles held by the Air Nomads, which preaches the preciousness of all life and avoidance of violence whenever possible. But on the issue of principles, there are instances where an Airbender has resorted to lethal force during a conflict, though it is vital to note that the airbender would attack out of anger, something which Airbenders are told to avoid. An air nomad Avatar would display deeds that were in direct violation of Air Nomad teachings, even though for the greater good. Nevertheless, when applied correctly, Airbending can be as lethal as any other Bending art. Airbending moves such as the air blade and air blast could prove particularly fatal against living creatures seeing as they can cut through stone/timber and break entire rock-columns in half respectively. Although an elderly and gentle person, when confronted with an obvious attempt of genocide to harm or kill all of his or her friends and family, an Airbending is enabled to eliminate enemies before succumbing to fatigue or injury and ultimately, death.Enclosed spaces: Though rarely exhibited, an Airbender would be significantly disadvantaged in an enclosed space, restricting their movement and ability to dodge attacks, but this weakness can be neutralized by creative use of Airbending. Though it is difficult to separate an Airbender from their element, if one was submerged under water or earth, or even chained, their ability to bend could possibly be compromised. Though, with ingenuity an Airbender could likely use a minuscule amount of air in their lungs, similar to a Waterbender's ability to use their own sweat. In many situations, this likely would not be sufficient due to its limited supply.EnergybendingEnergybending is the ability to bend life energy. It predates the four main bending arts, as well as the arrival of the Avatar and the formation of the Four Nations.Before the arrival of the Avatar into the world and the separation of the four elements, people bent the energy within themselves. At some point, they discovered the other four bending arts, and over time knowledge of Energybending was almost completely lost. The capabilities of Energybending are not well understood; what is known is that bending a person's life energy can impart them with knowledge instantly or remove one's bending completely. This bending art is dissimilar to the others because it is so perilous to the user, which is why so few have ever used it.Energybending is an extremely powerful and potentially dangerous technique. If the bender's spirit is even slightly weak (bendable), they will then be infected by the spirit of the one they are bending. As a result, the bender can be corrupted and even killedBending Removal: Energybenders can bend the bending energy of a human, removing their bending.Death: Energybending can remove the life of a person, causing instant and painless death.LightningCertain powerful Firebenders are able to generate and manipulate lightning by separating their energy forces. Plantbending has enabled members of the swamp to control and manipulate every form of plant life from the highly water-saturated vines and roots found within the swamp lands to seaweed from the ocean floor - they can even rapidly regenerate the plant mass of the plants they bend, since the cell tissues of a plant are more versatile than the cell tissues of an animal, also explaining why Bloodbending can only be achieved on the nights of the full moonGoing further, a skilled Waterbender is able to separate and completely extract the water from plants for more effective utilization just as they are able to separate the water from mud, sand, and even polluted river systems, etc. In the case of plant life, this process will then leave behind the withered remains of all the affected plant life or even making them collapse in the case of large trees. The degree of skill in manipulating plant life depends on the experience of the bender and whether or not a full moon is present. Simpler and smaller forms of plant life, such as grass, flowers and seaweed, can be bent with relative ease, with or without a full moonPlantbending movesPlant control: The most basic plantbending move, plant control is the ability to control a plant my manipulating the water in the plant.Water removal: Water removal is the ability to remove the water of a plant. Once the water is removed, the plant will wither and die.Poison control: When a plantbender meets a poisonous plant, he or she can remove the poison. The poison can then be used. This is also done to make a plant non-toxic before its use.Plant Monster: A powerful plantbender can have plants wrap around him/her to make him/her a plant monster. This has been done with both vines and seaweed.Plant Regeneration: Powerful plantbenders can make plants regenerate from damage, assuming the damage is not to severe.Avatar level PlantbendingSwamp formation: An avatar can bend plants more effectively than regular plantbenders, able to surround an entire area of land with plantsSeismic sense: An avatar can connect plants together and sense someone or something’s location, much like how an earthbender can use earth to sense movement without seeing BloodbendingSince the human body is roughly 70% water, Bloodbending does not necessarily bend blood, but the fluids in one's body, allowing the user to manipulate a body's muscles to move as they wish or to stop movement completely. This technique is very similar to Plantbending, but instead controls animals and humans instead of plants. Potentially, a Bloodbender could do a number of other things by bending the water in a person's body, such as stop a victim's heart or crush his/her internal organs; pressurize, boil, or cool the water to kill their opponent; or even completely extract the water from one's body, imitating the technique used with plants, though this technique has not been shown. Bloodbending is considered to be quite a sinister art since it forces a benders will over the victim's will. Those who practice the technique open themselves up to homicidal madnessBlood freezing: is when a bloodbender freezes the water inside a human body and causing the person to stop moving instantly, possibly causing hypothermia and death instantly.Blood evaporation: is when a bloodbender evaporates the water into the air and causing the person inability to stand or move.Blood draining: When a bloodbender pulls all the blood out of the body causing all the organs to stop functioning, leaving the victim to die a quick yet agonizing death.Brain Crushing: The Waterbender causes the blood supply in the brain to take in water, essentially pressuring the brain to death. Instantly lethal, I'd say.Blood Sleeping: A bloodbender prevents fluids from getting to the brain, causing the victim to become unconscious. Extended use will kill the victim.Blood Absorb: A bloodbender is able to use Target's Blood as Healing Water.Lava/Magma BendingAvatar-level Firebenders are able to bend lava and magma, although not with the same ease by which Waterbenders bend water. They can even because dormant volcanoes to erupt at will. This ability contrasts sharply with other types of Firebending, as lava and magma are superheated physical substances, rather than a chemical reaction. An ordinary Firebender would be incapable of performing the technique. Just like Waterbending and Earthbending, Soundbending has a distinct use of offense and defence. Gabriel is a vampire and the founder and leader of the British Coven. Gabriel was born during the 4th century AD. he was turned into a vampire by Aro, a leader of the Volturi.

He became a guard for Aro, and left a few centuries later. Since then he has formed his own 'string' of covens in secret from the Volturi. He, along with his coven drinks both animal and human blood to sustain them, making his eyes appear burgandy, rather than red or gold.

Early lifeEdit

Gabriel was born shortly before the 4th century AD, a time before the Christian era, and was raised by a religious family, when he became older he was comishoned as a messenger throughout Europe, at one point during his late twenties he was delivering for Italy and came to volterra. He was tracked down by Demetri and taken to the volturi, and from there he was turned into a vampire due to his tough look and potential look and smarts. Aro wasn't intending to make a gifted vampire out of Gabriel, but he soon manifested the gift to move things with his mind. Gabriel immedietely became enemies with Felix and their fights usually took days to stop. Many nights he hunted and fed on random humans, causing the law that no hunting is to take place in Volterra. Sometime before 850 AD he grew disgusted with the volturi and their 'meals'. He eventually came to faking his own death, killing Crisanto, another member of the guard in his place.

A few weeks later he arrived back in England. Gabriel Had spent almost half a millenium being part of many small covens around britain, but would always leave because of their strong addiction of only human blood. During the 1600's hundreds, Gabriel had heard of a human named Joseph, who residents around London believed he was practising dark, magic and recieving visions. Gabriel met him in his cell, ready to be hung the next day. Gabriel offered him life and Joseph accepted.

a century later, Gabriel met his wife, Helena, while she was still human, for unknown reasons, she became sick, and Gabriel her to save her life, he and Helena had never been seperated since

Along the years, along with Jospeh help and his gift, they were able to find humans to turn who would manifest special gifts

Gabriel stands at 6'9" with muscular, burly like build. Renesmee Cullen mentioned in Rising dawn that he looks similar to her uncle Emmet Cullen (a tall and muscular figure)
